This colossal iconic monument by Antony Gormley was completed in 1998. It is located on the site of the former Team Colliery coal mine that was in use from the 1720s to the 1960s. Believed to be the largest statue of an angel in the world at 20m high with a wingspan of 54m. Visitors can also visit the site to walk around its feet, allowing them to gaze upwards at its size. It is also visible from the nearby A1 road and the East Coast Mainline Railway. The Angel of the North has quickly become an iconic northern landmark.
This Angel of the North Print is currently available to buy online in the 18×6″ (45.72×15.24cm) borderless landscape panorama size only. If you would like a different size then please contact me. Your print will be printed on archival photographic paper at the professional photographic lab. Please note that your print will be delivered without a mount or frame.
