This beautiful art print shows the Angel of the North Statue which stands proudly over the skyline of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Illustrated in the retro Travel Poster or Railway Poster style popular in the early twentieth century, it gives a nostalgic twist to a modern contemporary artwork. Since its completion in 1998 the colossal monument by Anthony Gormley has quickly become adopted as a symbol of the North East of England. Perfect for any local or lover of this beautiful region.
This colossal iconic monument by Antony Gormley was completed in 1998. It is located on the site of the former Team Colliery coal mine that was in use from the 1720s to the 1960s. Believed to be the largest statue of an angel in the world at 20m high with a wingspan of 54m. Visitors can also visit the site to walk around its feet, allowing them to gaze upwards at its size. It is also visible from the nearby A1 road and the East Coast Mainline Railway. The Angel of the North has quickly become an iconic northern landmark.
