This beautiful aerial panoramic print shows Penshaw Monument on a frosty morning at sunrise. The aerial view shows a perspective visitors can not get from the ground and the panorama format places the monument and hill in their surroundings. The print shows how the monument stands on top of Penshaw Hill just to the west of Sunderland. Perfect for anyone who loves the area and the North East of England.

This imposing monument was built in 1844 in memory of the 1st Earl of Durham and stands on Penshaw Hill looking out over the surrounding area. It is a replica of the ancient Temple of Hephaestus on a smaller scale. Visitors can climb up the hill and view the surrounding countryside from inside the monument this is not for the faint of heart as the path up is very steep in places. The monument itself is 70 feet high and one of the most recognisable landmarks from the area, even making an appearance on the Sunderland Football Clubs Badge.

If you would like a different size then please contact me. Your print will be printed on archival photographic paper at the professional photographic lab. Please note that your print will be delivered without a mount or frame.
