This beautiful Angel of the North Fine Art Print shows the iconic statue in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. It was created using a variation of the historic Cyanotype process in blue, white and gold for an added touch of historical nostalgia. This unique artwork would make the perfect gift for someone special, or as a treat for yourself, and is ideal for any stylish home.
Exclusive to Alchemi Art you won’t find this print in the big chain stores.
This colossal iconic monument by Antony Gormley was completed in 1998. It is located on the site of the former Team Colliery coal mine that was in use from the 1720s to the 1960s. Believed to be the largest statue of an angel in the world at 20m high with a wingspan of 54m. Visitors can also visit the site to walk around its feet, allowing them to gaze upwards at its size. It is also visible from the nearby A1 road and the East Coast Mainline Railway. The Angel of the North has quickly become an iconic northern landmark.

I love working with the old Victorian photographic processes. One of my favourites is the cyanotype which has a distinctive blue and white colour. If you would like to learn more about the process then check out these articles here on the website. Cyanotype Art and the Cyanotype Process. How to make a cyanotype tutorial. Inspired by Anna Atkins.
