This beautiful greeting card shows Herd Groyne Lighthouse in South Shields, England. This quirky Victorian Lighthouse was built in 1882 at the mouth of the Tyne to the south. The lighthouse predates the larger North and South piers, at Tynemouth and South Shields, and is still in use guiding ships today. In fact, it even has one of the few remaining fog bells in the country. This card is perfect for any local of maritime history or the North east. As an added bonus the image was also created using a variation of the historic Cyanotype process in blue, white and gold for an added touch of historical nostalgia. Exclusive to Alchemi Art you won’t find this card in the big chain stores.
This Herd Groyne Greeting Card measures 150 x 150 mm. On the front, it features a print of an original artwork by Mara Louvain of Alchemi Art. They also manage and operate the ‘check tree’ certification worldwide which shows that wood-based products have been created from sustainable sources.
